Date #2 with CG (construction guy).
Shows up 5 minutes early. I was nearly ready so this was fine, give him tour of house while I collect my various essentials: shoes, keys, phone, money, jacket, directions. Then, we're off to the nearby renaissance fair. (No, neither of us dressed up for said outing.) Now, this is something that I have been trying to go to for an extended period of time (6 years)... noone has been interested in going. But, it was my choice for date activity, so off we went.
I highly suggest fairs and things for dates. There are usually tons of things to do: mini stage acts, food, vendors, walking around, people watching, and lots of conversation starting things unique outfits, nifty items for sale, the guy juggling flaming sticks, whether or not you can throw an axe in a wall... really the possibilities are endless.
For food, I enjoyed a "leg of fowl" half expecting it to to be made of, you know, bird? But no, it was ham. Odd. Watched a "Mud Show." Kind of disgusting to say the least, but you know, no big deal... just guys drinking muddy water, eating mud, rolling around in mud but to each their own I suppose.
The joust was cool, definitely not as well choreographed as at say Medieval Times, but amusing nonetheless. But I must say that I had a very good time today mostly due to my fabulous accompaniment. Really nice, great guy that you can have a good conversation with, joke around with, and so on. He seemed a little nervous today, but hopefully that will subside. The only thing going against him is that he's short. I'm 5'2", and he's right there at eye level with me. CG always has hilarious stories, which I thoroughly enjoy, and he's right there cracking the politically incorrect joke right along with me. Depending on when we hang out next, I may make him some brownies. He seems worthy of baked goods.
Overall date score: 4/5
